ALSG Course

Congratulations to Dr Karen Street, EPIC Director and Consultant Paediatrician, for successfully leading a voluntary professional working group to develop a 2-day course for health professionals on how to manage psychiatric and psychosocial emergencies for children and young people presenting to acute hospital settings.

This is the culmination of a 2-year project on behalf of the charity Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG). The course has been launched this week in Manchester and will be rolled out UK wide and internationally over the next 12 months.

The aim is to equip all health professionals with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to safely and effectively manage children and young people in acute distress with care and compassion in the least restrictive way possible. Good luck to Karen and her team, EPIC are very proud!

ADHD Focus Group

EPIC support services for ADHD are in demand, the October parent/carer group is now full. Our next session is virtual on November 18th and open to booking now. These are for any parent/carer of a child/young person with ADHD.

If you are interested please contact . Individualised support is also available for young people and/or families with our ADHD specialist nurse and systemic therapist.

Understanding ADHD for parents and carers

EPIC’s ADHD parent/carers information sessions are back after a summer break and are much in demand.

Sessions are open to parents/carers of anyone with an ADHD diagnosis, this does not have to have been through EPIC.

Feedback on the groups is universally positive, giving great insight into how young people can be understood and supported.

Please book your place through our website, by e mailing or phoning on 01392 829989.
